Is it THAT imperitive to use a continental grip while serving?

I used to hit Aces all the time, and had a fantastic serve... and then I was forced to hold my racquet Continental and I can't serve anymore. Its as if I just learned it for the first time. I'm so peeved. (not sure if the word I really want to use will get people ...uhm.. mad). Anyhow, I really want to know bec I'm frustrated.
