Did I screw things up with this girl (please answer)?

I'm not sure if I did the right thing with the girl I really like. She knows I like her too but she was too infatuated with another guy that was playing her. She's starting to get over him and I think is starting to see me differently. Anyway, the other night when the clock struck midnight she went around wishing everyone a happy new year and gave her close friends a quick peck (she was drunk so that would explain this) and everyone else a quick hug. But when she got to me she gave me this big hug and when I kissed her on the cheek she made an "Awww" sound. And we just stood there hugging each other for a minute. I wanted to kiss her on the lips but I didn't want to do it in front of everyone (one of my friends has a huge crush on her and I can tell he doesn't like to be around us since he knows I love her) and that chance never came up. Although I did make this very obvious move when I left; I walked across the room and hugged her and gave her another kiss on the cheek but I didn't say bye to anyone else (just a quick wave to everyone). Did I do the right thing or was she expecting me to kiss her on the lips?
